Information for the Adult choir

Who:

Anyone in high school to adulthood can join the adult choir.  You just need to be able to walk up the stairs to the choir loft.

When:

The adult choir sings at the 10:00 am liturgy each week as well as Christmas Eve, Easter, Advent Lessons & Carols, and other holy days throughout the year.  The choir season is from mid-September to Pentecost.

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals are held every Thursday evening from mid-September to Pentecost from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  There is a Sunday morning warm-up and review every Sunday at 9:00 am before the 10:00 am choir Mass.

Where:
All rehearsals are held in the choir room which is on the first floor of the PREP
building (The old convent next to the church).

Experience:

No experience is necessary except that you have a pleasant singing voice and

the ability to carry a tune.  You will learn everything you need to know such as basic

music theory and vocal techniques.  Where else can you basically get free voice

lessons?

No Excuses:

Have you ever heard the announcement from the pulpit saying the choir is looking for new members and said to yourself, "Gee, I'd love to join the choir but I just don't have the time."?  As a music director for 26 years, I have heard this excuse countless times.  My advice to you is, just do it!  Come and join us!  I guarantee you will have fun, meet new people, learn new things, and that it will be a rewarding experience.  Most people tell me that choir practice is their escape.  It's their time to relax, unwind and clear their heads and they look forward to rehearsal each week.  All of the things you thought were so important and couldn't wait to be done, they'll be there when you are done or the next day.
